Evening Mail

It's Friday night and all is good

right here in our neighborhood.

Except of course at Grammy's house

where two little tyrants race about.

The weather here is nice and hot--

this ice cream really hits the spot.

The corn is almost to our knees...

So are the mosquitos, gnats and fleas!

The lake was really nice today

when we all went out to play.

Someone brought a little boat

so we climbed in and went afloat.

All the kids and even me,

I'm sure it was a sight to see!

We spun around and hit the shore,

circled back and paddled some more.

Three feet of water--I'll say no more.

Well, the sun has set outside our door.

For now we'll close and say no more.
